Yahoo! Recruitment Search Will Soon Have Jobs in Israel
Yahoo! Recruitment Search Will Soon Have Jobs in Israel 1 Following Google's lead, Yahoo! has finally arrived in Israel. Jobs there are soon to follow. Yahoo opened its first research lab in Israel on March 11th. To be headed by Dr. Ronny Lempel, the Haifa lab is going to focus on Yahoo's future in developing a ânew approach to Web searchâ according to Prabhakar Raghavan, head of Yahoo research. On his blog, CTO of Yahoo Ari Balogh says that Dr. Lempel's âexpertise in search technologies, and ties to local academia, will help us draw on the best talent and knowledge from the region and strengthen our worldwide Research efforts.â Does this mean that Computer Science graduates from the nearby Technion will be the first targeted recruits? Perhaps, and the Matam Technological Park where the lab is located â" Israel's oldest hitech zone â" is also home to Google and Microsoft research labs plus many other hitech companies in Israel.eval Job listings coming soon The official Yahoo Search blog says âThe Haifa research lab will be staffing up in the coming months â" so if you're interested in tackling some of the most challenging questions in web search, check out the job opportunities at Yahoo! Research.â Those listings can give you a good idea of what openings might be coming for Yahoo! Haifa. Another research lab was also opened simultaneously in Bangalore, India. Although Yahoo's global recruitment site already has job listings for that location, you have to dig around to find the almost-empty Haifa section of the site. Regardless, since you already know that jobs are going to be opening up at the new lab in Israel, you have every reason to apply now and get your resume to the front of the line.eval All the more true if you're in human resources. Someone has to hire the engineers. Related Links Yahoo Haifa's building (Hebrew) Purple ribbon-cutting at Haifa's new Yahoo! How to Write a Resume Title
How to Write a Resume TitleIt's very important to know how to write a resume title. People who are applying for jobs frequently will find themselves re-writing the same sentences repeatedly just to make sure that they are getting the job that they want. So you want to learn how to write a resume title and then write a resume that gets the job.Resume titles are one of the things that most job applicants will notice immediately. When you're applying for a job you want to look your best and make the people who are reading your resume feel like they're reading the resume of a professional. Because of this there are some guidelines that you need to follow to make sure that you're getting the best results. The first thing that you want to do is not write your resume without first having some idea of what kind of person you want to write your resume for. You want to be able to create a resume that the potential employer will see and think about. This is why it's important to understand the k ind of job that you are applying for.Once you have this information you can begin to choose the different titles that you want to use for your resume. For example, if you are applying for a telecommuting position you will probably use a title like 'Telecommuting Associate' because it has a professional look to it. However, if you're applying for a regular position, you might use a title like 'Lead Internet Marketing Consultant'Project Manager' and the main point is to keep it short and snappy. In order to make sure that the potential employer sees you as a professional, they need to be able to quickly jump to the first impression that they are going to get from reading your resume. When you're working on your resume and you think about it, you will probably see that a lot of it is composed of one or two words. It is important to keep it short so that the reader can easily get through it. This is what you want for the reason that they will never remember all of the information that is on your resume, so you want to be able to shorten it and make sure that they read what they want to read. After you have created your resume and edited it you want to make sure that the final touches that you need to add are done before submitting it to the employer. When you get your final draft and re-read it, you'll see how much of the information that you put in is actually accurate. Also, you will see that it's formatted correctly to go on your resume. When you submit your resume, you want to make sure that you have done everything that you can to make sure that it gets read. If you were to simply send the resume to a job posting and it didn't get read, then your chances of getting the job are very slim. The company that you are applying for will have hundreds if not thousands of resumes. So, make sure that your resume is the first one they see and that you don't end up putting it on the back burner. It's very important to know how to write resume titles so that you can have the best possible chance of getting the job that you want. Whether you're applying for a job in sales, customer service, writing, or any other position you should take the time to make sure that you know how to format and structure your resume the way that you would like it to be.

One Geometric Principle Smartly Leverages Business - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career
One Geometric Principle Smartly Leverages Business - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career Business operating with a single threaded mindset rarely survives for very long. These owners are the same ones who frequently proclaim, âYou should doâ but itâs usually a singular piece of a complex puzzle. Unfortunately most people who make pronouncements like that arenât aware of the missing pieces. But by putting them all together to solve the puzzle, you have a time-efficient mechanism in place that produces far greater results. This relates to the concept of geometry, âThe whole is greater than the sum of its partsâ. This implies the cross functioning of components for establishing a strong machine. Picture a dozen pieces joined together in a circle. Instead of just a circular grouping working together for one outcome, the geometric principle points to that PLUS all of the parts interacting in a variety of combinations. This is what produces an exponential grand total of possibility, far larger than just the sum total of the parts. An example is that is having heard, âTo establish credibility, you need to write a book.â To the dismay of many authors, it was only after the entire book was written that the next revelation took hold. It became necessary to refresh speaking skills as well as learn many other strategies for business development to include marketing, branding, and public relations, as well as create new products and services. You can imagine it took years to embrace and put into motion all of this for a far more recognizable presence. But for those willing to pursue, it made an enormous difference as opposed to those who simply wrote a book. In todayâs marketplace, many people will pronounce that a particular social media site will make all the difference for oneâs business. That one site is only a drop in the social media ocean. An improved approach is to figure out where your intended audience resides. Your job continues in analyzing which platforms you prefer and will commit to using on a daily basis. Complicating the matter are complementary tools and apps associated with each of the sites. It is up to us to figure out which will enhance our user experience. As business builds, so do our audiences and their desires. This is when the case is clearly made to intermingle the platforms for improved results. Another approach is to ask many questions of peers and followers as to their preferences for business development, and the reasoning behind their suggestions. Gaining insight will provide you with additional ideas for creating new products and services as well as sharing desired content. Expansion of all that you offer is referred to as leveraging, and this should be applied to the best of what you provide. This is how multiple streams of income develop. Understanding the entire picture, and ensuring all components work together as a team effect, plus interaction among the complementary, will set you and your personal brand apart. You are then directed to the Smooth Sale!

How to choose a new career
How to choose a new career It was a big decision whether we should do reality TV. Since mostly only people with crazy, falling-apart lives do reality TV, I realized that to feel good about doing the show, Id have to think about it as a job. Otherwise I couldnt justify spending so much time on it. So I evaluated the TV show as if it were a job opportunity. 1. Make sure itll be a psychologically positive experience. In my mind, reality TV is letting someone else tell my story. But right now I make a living from me telling my story. So I need to be really careful letting other people do that. Also, the Farmer said no. Just plain no. He wanted nothing to do with it. He pointed out that he is the only one of the two of us who lets someone else tell his story, and he can tell me from experience that I wont like it. Scientific American published research about how editing our own stories is good for our well-being. And I know from writing other peoples resumes that its very difficult to see multiple facets of our own story. Which made me very curious about what the reality TV people would put together for my story. So I let them come film. Just to see what it would be like. 2. Make sure you can make money. I studied the reality TV world for months by reading tabloids. I learned that the people who make the most money from reality TV are people who can run it like a business. Kim Kardashian is like this, but Id like to think Id be more like Bethany, who sold a product line from her show. I called the reality people to make sure I could sell my product on my TV show. Sure, said Yasmine, (the person who is in charge of dealing with me.) Thats a great idea! What will you sell? Goat cheese, I said. I have already discarded this idea many times, but I was on the spot. Anyway, I know Ill think of something that I can make on the farm and sell online, so it only matters that Yasmine said yes. So they came for two days. Thats Rick, the sound guy. Almost as soon as the team arrived, he put a microphone on each of us. We never knew when we were turned on and when we were off. I was surprised to see that the Farmer let them put a mic on him. 3. Make sure the new career will leverage your gifts. Then each of us did an interview. That was great for me, of course, because my favorite thing is to pretend that Im having a conversation with someone but really its just me talking about me and I dont even have to feign interest in the other person. My sweet spot. When I think about if this reality TV thing is a good job for me, I think about research I read from Charles Dike, professor of psychiatry at Yale University. He talks about the spectrum of lying and how on one end is the pathological liar, and people with Aspergers are on the other end. For most reality shows theres a problem that the people dont want to show their true selves on camera. And for most people in business, theres the problem that people show too much of themselves and get in trouble. Clearly, my penchant for saying whatever comes into my head, is more suited for reality TV than for business. So thats one sign that I should be doing this. 4. Ask yourself how itll affect the people around you. I worried a bit about my sons doing interviews. My oldest son relished being able to list the swear words I say in public. She really needs to work on that, he said. Not that I would know, really, what he said. Because I couldnt be there. But my son told me afterwards, right before he said, Dont worry. I didnt say anything bad. This is Dave. He is the creative director. I like him because he listened to me do a coaching call and he said it was so amazing that there needs to be one coaching call on every show. During the interview with the Farmer, which the Farmer announced he would not do but ended up doing anyway, Dave asked the Farmer about my coaching. The Farmer said, Shes amazing at coaching. She can figure out exactly what someone should do with their life after talking with them for just five minutes. Ive heard her do it over and over again. For someone to get that for an hour, its great. Its a gift she has. They are lucky. But to live with it, thats different. I feel like one of those ants under a magnifying glass, and the sun is reflecting so hot that I have to keep running away so I dont burn. 5. Will you like the people youll work with? By the end of the first day, the crew felt like friends. And we hung out on the porch with them while the kids practiced and I made dinner for everyone. Which brings me to maybe my favorite piece of workplace research ever, which is from Tim Rath, at Gallup: If you have two good friends at work, it will never feel like you have a bad job. Yasmine said that everyone at the production office took the test on my blog about whether they have a good job, and everyone ended up scoring high because they like the people they work with. I see why. I liked the people, too. By the second day, the TV people had each improvised a fast way for taking their shoes on and off when they went in the house. They knew where to step to avoid cow poop and the electric fence. And Yasmine, who had the impossible job of keeping everything from baby pig rambunctious boys on schedule, turned the rental car into her office. Everyone had gotten in a groove. Except me. The second day I woke up dreading that I had to still be nice to everyone. 6. Figure out what the job will it be like at its worst. Can you take it? I am a person who needs a lot of alone time. I need writing time. I need time to read obsessively in a scalding hot bath. So I woke up early to do that, because when I am anxious I get cold, and I cope by taking baths that are so hot that the plumber said its illegal to have a house with such hot water. But thats how hot I need it to feel good. I didnt know the hot water wasnt hot until I got into a cold bath. And once I am wet, and not hot, I cant get warm again. Its like Im a lizard or something. I think this falls under my sensory integration disorder, because my son, who also has sensory integration disorder, has the same issue but with cold water. He cant cope with even lukewarm water. It must be cold. So, by the time the film crew came to me on the second day, I was in my winter jacket. Sulking. I think they were prepared for something like this, though. After all, they found me by reading my blog. So we discussed how I cannot have good social skills right now, so no one should talk to me. They didnt ask me to take my coat off. They just sort of worked around it for a while, as we walked from scene to scene. They have a name for every type of shot. The wide angles of the farm are beauty shots, the stuff that goes along with a voiceover is B roll, and the shot where the protagonist of the show stands alone is the hero shot, which I pulled myself together for by the middle of the day. 7. Make a decision and go with it. The crew was from from Chicago, LA, and Toronto and I felt pressure to tell them if I didnt want to do it. I didnt want them to do more and more work and then I say no. The second day they spent a lot of time taking footage of the kids playing music. I usually cringe when they play together because its more like a fight than a duet: who can make the other one mess up. But with the camera crew there, the boys played together better than theyve ever played before. It reminded me of the Stanford Study of Writing that showed that kids learn to write much faster if they are writing for the Internetwhere theres an audiencethan for their teacher, which is an audience of one. It was moments like that, where I saw us each being our best selves for the camera, that I thought this reality show is probably good for us. We cannot be our best selves all the time, but being on camera gives us glimpses of our best selves so that we know better what we are capable of. Each of us. I am not the only one who felt good about the show at the end of the day. We all lingered nearby as the crew packed up their stuff. Even the Farmer, who was initially was the one who thought doing a reality show was a complete waste of time. He walked over to shake everyones hand and to thank them for making the two days so fun for us. Then, as they drove away, he took a nice long rest.

Do You Use the First Person When Writing a Resume?
Do You Use the First Person When Writing a Resume?Do you use the first person when writing a resume? When I am asked this question I cringe and almost always give a false answer. The reason for my embarrassment is the fact that I don't use the first person in my writing, yet, I receive letters and emails from people who, while they do use the first person when writing their resumes, never mention it in their cover letter to the agency that they are applying to.The problem is that when they are applying for jobs that are not specifically advertised for writers in this manner, the cover letter doesn't even mention the person's name on the right side of the cover page. The letter isn't even considered part of the resume. (Many applicants may not even have read the resume before sending it off, but the fact remains that when you send off a resume and request a letter, the cover letter should mention that the person who wrote the resume is a writer. An employer needs to know who you are an d what you have to offer because the resume is only one part of the cover letter, the cover letter is only one part of the cover letter. The entire process must be completed with an eye toward the reader. If you don't use the first person, then, the reader can easily lose the focus and go away from what they are trying to accomplish. Why do I make this assertion? Because the first person does not lend itself to imparting the appropriate level of information. Instead of explaining why you are qualified for the position you're applying for, you explain yourself as being qualified to do something in a way that is limiting. It takes more time to give a good explanation of your skills as opposed to telling the reader about what they already know. This is where the second person comes into play. When you write a cover letter or resume, never, ever use the first person. In addition, don't use the second person to introduce yourself. What are the advantages of using the second person? The reas on why this statement is given and why it holds the attention of every person reading it is because the second person is usually more descriptive than the first person. The reason is that the second person makes it clear that the writer knows more about what he or she is writing about.A typical cover letter, by which I mean a resume, is written using the first person. While the first person allows the reader to get a good idea of the type of applicant for the job, the first person also allows the reader to forget the importance of the writing. The reason why a second person makes sense is because it conveys information with the help of description. The more descriptive a writing is, the more that the reader will remember and refer to when seeking employment.Do you use the first person when writing a resume? If you do, then you may want to rethink your approach to cover letters. Use the second person.

In this smart era of technical advancements online interviewing is the new thing in town!Apart from saving travel costs and time, this type of interviews are very effective to screen candidates residing in remote and foreign locations. And this is why companies are fast switching to this option. This post is written with an aim to make you aware about the various important aspects of preparing and attending an online interview.1. Rehearse wellevalIf this is the first time you are going to face an online interview you need to practice a few times before diving in the actual scene. In the initial takes you are bound to make some mistakes which will eventually be sorted out as you practice more. You can ask a friend to speak from the other end of the screen and take a mock interview. Part time jobs can also help you a great deal in this regard. You can also try many online t ools to set up a mock interview in case you are too shy to involve a friend in this.Photo Credit â" pinterview.in2. Are your devices technically sound? What if the laptop shuts down in the middle of the process? Or the audio system is just not good enough to function properly? You cannot afford to offend the panel due to these silly reasons, can you? So prior to your interview get all the technical stuffs checked by an expert.3. Proper Internet connectionYou need to have a good internet connection if you want the interview to run uninterruptedly. A fast internet connection is the most important criteria of an online interview. If you do not have a sound net connection in your home you can borrow a 4g wireless modem from a friend or arrange the interview in a friendâs place who has a broadband connection.4. Be PresentableJust because you are participating in the interview from comfort of your bed room doesnât mean you should sit in front of the screen in your linking park tees and shorts. Dress in the same way, how you would have dressed in an offline interview.evalGroom your hair, wear a mild shirt and keep the webcam at your eye level. Read this to know more about interview dress etiquettes5. Do not make unnecessary noise or movementsPlease keep in mind that whatever sound you create near the system gets magnified and reaches the other end with a greater intensity. So do not move much during the interview and avoid handling objects It often happens that the microphone delays the transmission of audio due to a number of factors (primarily slow net connection). So make sure not to speak @100km/hr. Go slow and steady.Photo Credit- newswise.com7. Eye ContactIt is important to make an eye contact throughout the interview. For this, avoid looking in the screen randomly and try to look directly at the webcam.8. PreparationPrepare your subjects in the same way you would have done in case of an offline interview. Speak confidently to show your command and confidenc e in the subjects.9. Organize your spacePresentation is very important in all aspects of life. Take care not to have objectionable objects or images around you or in the background wall that can send a negative signal to the interviewer.Keep all your documents, certificates and other useful items near your desk. It makes no sense to search for a pen and pad in the middle of the interview process keeping the interviewer at hold.Know your would-be organization: Gather all the important details about the organization you are going to join if selected.10. Relax and RelaxFinally do not show symptoms of nervousness or stress during the interview. Practice a few rounds of deep breathing prior to the interview and keep a smile throughout the process.

Client Case Study Kathy Hubler - When I Grow Up
Client Case Study Kathy Hubler - When I Grow Up Um, do you know that Ive coached hundreds of women since I started offering dream career guidance in 2008? And that these women are freakin rock stars, leaving soul-sucking jobs and traveling the world and launching creative, grown-up businesses and simply doing work that fits their lifestyle goals? Well ya do now and youll hear their stories firsthand in my Client Case Studies series! Im so excited to feature Kathy Hubler the day before her official business launch, yahoo! A 90 Day Business Launch grad, shes now the founder of Ladies Against The Grain, where she works with women in the hospitality and service industries who are disconnected from their own lives. Youll soon see how she helps them discover who they are, what they want, and how to get there both as a certified coach, a yoga teacher, and someone who did just that for herself! Why did you decide to work with me? I had tried starting my coaching business on my own before but with little success. I had to put my business on the back burner during some big moves in my life- literally, I moved from the east coast to the west coast by myself and then learned how to re-establish myself in an area where I knew no one and knew nothing about. Not just once, but twice in less than two years. When the urge to start coaching started coming up I knew it wasnt something I wanted to do on my own. Id been there, tried that and wanted more. I know and understand the power of coaching. I felt like working with a coach would help me become successful, bridge some gaps I wasnt connecting on my own, all while having the support to move forward- everything I needed to establish my new coaching business. What were you doing work-wise when we started working together and what are you doing now? I work in the hospitality industry. I finally feel like Im at home in the restaurant I am in- something Ive searched for throughout my entire career working in restaurants. Its a wonderful place to be while building my business because its supportive, nurturing, and inspiring. I work part-time in the restaurant and part time for Ladies Against The Grain. I would love to work full-time for myself/LATG one day. What was your biggest takeaway from our work together? Having confidence in myself to do the work Im doing. Learning I can take coaching outside the box based on my coaching background and expertise in the hospitality service industries. Think of someone who is currently in the shoes you wore when we first started working together. What advice do you have for her? Invest in yourself. Follow your heart. And Invest in YOURSELF! Its a pipe dream if all you do is sit around daydreaming about it. When you take the initiative to do something about it, things start to become real. And its scary, right? Having a coach helps. It subsides the fears, gives you guidance, and increases your confidence when you start to see the progress you are making! Is there anything thats been a game-changer for you when it comes to your business that you can share? Wed love a good resource or a mindset/productivity tip! JUST DO IT. No really, just do it. Its so easy to convince ourselves that we arent ready, arent good enough, dont have enough skill, or whatever. But just start to do something, put yourself out there, and do it. Its always going to be scary, so why put it off when deep down you know you can do it and its the unknown that is holding you back, not your skills/abilities/capabilities. Whats on the horizon for your business? Wed love to hear about any upcoming offerings or goals! Ladies Against The Grain Launch! Relaunching my coaching business with my refined and more defined target audience in mind. Im kicking off the launch with the 5 Days Against The Grain Challenge, an opportunity to help you get out of a space that feels stuck and unclear into a place that has a little more freedom mentally. Soon after that I hope to use my experience as a Yin Yoga instructor to offer 15-20 minute stretches to help you feel better. I hear it all the time- our bodies in the service and hospitality industry HURT because of the long hours on our feet. The exhaustion leaves us feeling like we dont have the time or energy to do anything about it. If I can offer up some stretches and techniques in less than 20 minutes that help someone Im gonna do it! It makes a difference in our mental and physical health. And suddenly, one starts to feel hopeful again because their focus and attention shifts to the wonderful possibilities in life when they feel good. Where can we find you and your work? Website: ladiesagainstthegrain.com and Instagram: Ladies Against the Grain #ladiesagainstthegrain I cant wait for Kathy to join me 4 other recent 90 Day Business Launch alumni on my free webinar: 90 Day Business Launchers Tell All!
